We’ve all got stuff (i.e. junk) that’s cluttering up closets and gathering dust in drawers. Why not spend an hour or two this weekend rounding it all up and sending it to people who could really use it?
- Ask your kids to collect any extra markers, binders, rulers, construction paper, pens, pencils, etc. and ship them to iLoveSchools, a nonprofit that connects donors with teachers all over the U.S.
- Check the garage, basement and backyard for old athletic gear (balls, bats, mitts, tennis racquets, uniforms; even hacky sacks.) Sports Gift will distribute it to underprivileged children throughout the world.
- Go through your bookshelves and bedside tables and send old paperbacks to Operation Paperback, who will distribute them to troops around the globe.
Now that’s what I call cleaner giving.
