May Your Cup Runneth Over

Starbucks, you’d better watch your back. 7-Eleven just launched a cool new promotion aimed at coffee (and tea) drinkers across the country. Its “Coffee Cup with a Cause” campaign aims to raise more than $2 million for various charities this year and might just steal away some of your morning jump-start expenditure.

Each month, 7-Eleven will introduce a limited edition 20 oz. cup designed by a high-profile entertainer or athlete. Each cup of coffee (or any other hot beverage) sold will benefit the featured celebrity’s charity of choice.

The “inaugural” cup will be designed by Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and Benji Madden. The proceeds will benefit The Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, which raises awareness and funds for local, national and international charities that improve the lives of children

7-Eleven is providing a guaranteed $250,000 minimum donation to each charity, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting your very own limited-edition, celebrity-designed cup o’ joe. I can't vouch for the coffee, but the cups sound pretty cool and your caffeine addiction can help support people in need. Drink up!
