Driving While Incommunicado

Oprah is spreading the word about the dangers of texting, calling, talking or e-mailing (who does this?) while driving. According to the information I “researched” (um, copied) from her Web site, nearly 500,000 people are injured and 6,000 are killed each year because drivers are talking, texting and e-mailing behind the wheel.

Possibly due to the fact that I don't own a car, I can honestly tell you that I am not one of these alleged talkers, texters or emailers. But, to further show my support for Oprah’s “No Texting Campaign,” I’ve joined the more than 169,000 individuals who’ve taken the pledge to make my future Zip Car rentals a “No Phone Zone.”

Nobody likes a distracted driver. Click here to sign the pledge.
