GenerationOn – the new youth division of Points of Light Institute - is calling on kids K-12 to make their mark in the world through volunteerism and service. With a $5 million investment by Hasbro Children’s Fund in their pocket, they’re able to offer some pretty cool resources including a rather dashing new website, a national youth leadership program, recognition programs, their very own Kids Care Week, youth service grants, and more 1,400 lesson plans on topics including the environment, hunger, literacy, health, nutrition and animal welfare.
It also includes 1,800 Kids Care Clubs and thousands of schools that reach more than two million young people in all 50 states. By connecting teachers, parents, schools, and local organizations, GenerationOn hopes to teach kids about important issues in their communities and help them find hands-on ways to become mini problem solvers on a local level.
