You’re going to have to wait a few weeks before you can get your hands on one of the chic charity tees from a fashionable new collaboration between the “SAVE JAPAN! PROJECT,” UNIQLO, and Condé Nast Japan. With a little help from 10 A-list celebrities and designers - including Lady Gaga, Karl Lagerfeld, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively and Gwyneth Paltrow – the project plans to raise more than $1 million for the Japanese Red Cross Society to aid victims of the Great East Japan earthquake.
Each of the tees (which retail in the U.S. for $19.90) bears a message of hope and encouragement for the people of Japan. My favorite comes from Miss Lively: “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” How inspirational is that!
Beginning June 25, you can get yours at a UNIQLO retailer in 11 countries around the world or at a UNIQLO Web site near you.
